Walking in and around Westkapelle

Westkapelle lies on the westernmost tip of Walcheren, where the sea dyke gives you views across the open sea.

• On the dyke: the Westkappelse Zeedijk between the North Sea and the village is a walk in itself.
• Nature behind the dyke: the Noordervroon and the Westkapelse Kreek are the nearest nature reserves.
• Lighthouses and views: along the way you see 't Hoge Licht lighthouse and pass several viewpoints.

3 Walking routes

The walking routes around Westkapelle combine the sea dyke, the dunes and the open polder landscape.

• 'Verdediging' pearl route: a 5.4 km route through and around Westkapelle, largely paved.
• Kunstpicknickroute: just over 30 km past art and villages such as Zoutelande, Biggekerke, Aagtekerke and Domburg.
• Over the dyke to the Noordervroon: walk along the sea dyke to the north side of the village, where the Noordervroon starts right behind the dyke.
