Cycling in and around Westkapelle

In Westkapelle you ride over the five kilometre long Westkappelse Zeedijk, with the North Sea on one side and the village and polder on the other.

• On the dike: the Noorderhoofdweg runs over the sea dike right along the coast and makes a fine start to any bike ride.
• Hire a bike: the bike hire shops are on the Zuidstraat and the Markt.
• Art and polders: the cycling routes link the coast with villages in the Walcheren countryside.
• Along the coast: via the junction network you quickly reach Domburg to the north or Zoutelande to the south.
• Nature behind the dike: the Noordervroon and the Westkapelse Kreek are the nearest nature reserves.

Bicycle hire

Westkapelle has 2 bike hire shops, one of them close to the Polderhuis museum.

• Rijwielshop Westkapelle: on the Zuidstraat, about 80 metres from the Polderhuis.
• Olaf's Bike: on the Markt, a stone's throw from the Dijkwerker statue.
• A museum along the way: the Polderhuis tells the story of life in the polder, the Second World War and the flooding of 1944.
